Tropism

(a) (Scientific) The involuntary orientation by an organism or one of its parts that involves turning or curving by movement or growth in response to a source of stimulation

(b) (Philosophical) The interior movements (before a thought) that precede and prepare our words and actions, at the limits of consciousness. These interior movements can take place at an individual, or at a collective level.
